Horrible straight, adds depth to mocktails
This doesn't taste remotely like whiskey on its own. It has a burnt molasses taste that's really odd on the rocks or in an old fashioned. I found it undrinkable like that. I used this in the Better Rhodes shandy recipe and used less of the whiskey and more beer and it was really good. It added a depth to the drink that made it seem like a summery whiskey cocktail. So I recommend it for that kind of use.
