Big Drop Brewing Paradiso IPA won the World’s Best-Style Winner in World Beer Awards 2021. Citrusy from the moment the can touches your lips till you put it down, the beer is characterized by its sharply bitter twist. However, to avoid making the Paradiso IPA too bitter, the beer is dry hopped to capture the flavors and aroma of the hops. This technique is very useful because the Paradiso IPA uses Citra hops, creating a very strong bitterness when added to the boil.

Instead of extracting alcohol from their brews, they use techniques and ingredients that ensure a minute level of alcohol of less than 0.5% ABV. Other ingredients in non-alcoholic beer include lactose or milk sugar. Every bottle has a squeeze of lime to tease out the citrusy flavor from the hops. 

Tasting Notes:

It has a great citrusy aroma due to the Citra hops used to brew the beer. With undertones of mango and grapefruit, the beer is sweet with a subtle malty flavor floating around throughout its body. Although the carbonation of the Paradiso IPA is on the lower side, the beer is still lively enough to be noticed. It is more like a cask-conditioned ale than bottled craft beer. Paradiso IPA has a medium body and slight stickiness that affects the mouthfeel, which pairs perfectly with the mango aroma.
