Wander + Found Tasting Notes with Jillian Fontana

The wonderful sommelier, Jillian Fontana, has once again created some amazing and delightful tasting notes on our wine. This tasting features Wander + Found. Wander + Found is a non-alcoholic branded wine that we created here at Better Rhodes.

Here are some notes from Jillian on our three German wines.

Cuvée Blanc:  On the nose, we have pineapple, lime zest, and green apple aromas. On the palate we have zippy acidity, a balanced wine with just enough residual sugar to balance the bright acidity.

The body is medium, not watery at all, and full of pure fruit with no unnecessary “artificial tasting” aromas. The finish is pleasing and keeps you coming back for more. I’d happily drink this with a summery watermelon and feta salad, grilled fish such as halibut or red snapper with mango salsa and would be perfection on its own by the pool. More pairings: brats on the grill, roast chicken with lemon butter, fish tacos, shrimp scampi.

Rosé: If the cliche “rosé all day” is as unhealthy as it sounds, fret not! (Haha)

This is a gorgeous dry rosé, bursting with ruby red grapefruit, strawberry, and kiwi aromas. It is dry but not so dry that it can’t be enjoyed alone. Medium-bodied, nice bright acidity which can hold up to a vinaigrette or a richer protein. Pair with rainbow trout, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, chilled corn bisque, Nicosia salad, and pasta primavera, Serve nice and cold, perhaps with orange zest for fun.

Pinot Noir: Yes! This actually smells like good ol’ Pinot noir!

On the nose, we have bright red cherry and cranberry, with the characteristic backbone of wet earth. Pinot Noir is known to be a finicky varietal to grow but it's well worth the effort. We have classic Pinot elegance— so light to medium body, with a pleasing finish of soft tannins that you only get from the best Pinots. This allows it to work well with a variety of richer foods.
Pair with charcuterie, merguez sausage, pork chops, mushroom risotto, and grilled salmon with capers.
